Now that they are bigger: “Look, I am soon taller than you!”
How many times have they expressed their need to be seen, to be heard, to be appreciated?
Giving them compliments or encouraging them without excess, being positive while being realistic is just a matter of attention.
I must admit that several times, I have let myself go and listened with one ear only, while answering “you are wonderful”.
Later, I realised that just a little more attention and a suitable remark which gives a positive feedback and is evaluated accurately makes a huge difference. And this difference is seen and understood by them. They know that we know their true value.
Being actually attentive to what they want to show us is the very principle of Family Pact.
Family Pact is now an appointment between us, when we want it, to make an objective assessment of their progress, of what remains to be accomplished and especially to value them.
